Just got an email from the NA Way Magazine I subscribe to announcing the new edition of the NA basic text.

here is the link: http://www.na.org/pdf/naway/en/NAWay_October_2008.pdf

if I doesn't work - you can get general information from
www.na.org - including a free subscription to the monthly magazine.

I always love reading the articles in it - very informative and full of spiritual food as well as recent news.

:29: yes, isn't it great, Gail. I have had some locally for a while, and now some people are wondering when i will have access to the commemorative edition. World told me it could be as late as Dec. on that. Time will tell.

I can't tell you how honoured and humbled I am all at the same time. A few weeks ago I got email from NA World Services informing me that my story had been chosen and was published in the sixth edition of the Basic Text.

It all but blew me away!

I actually wrote the story and sent it in when I was a patient in an AIDS Hospice about 3 1/2 years ago. I wasn't sure I would walk out of that Hospice alive let alone see my story published in what, in my humble opinion is the second best book in the world. The first being the Bible.

I received my hard copy in the mail last week and I can't even find words to express the feeling of knowing that my story might actually help another addict find recovery!

What a gift NA is!!!:29:

Hi everyone,

I was informed that when this new NA basic text came out that the old NA basic text was actually "NO LONGER" conference approved literature, which sounds odd to me but that is what I heard from what I thought (maybe?) a reliable source.

Anybody here have any input on the past basic text "No longer" being conference approved? I have an old edition and ever since I heard this I have lots of mixed feelings.
