Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for creating me as a woman. May I function in the role You created me for and give me a submissive spirit, not only toward my mate, but also toward each member in the body of Christ. Let me serve, and not expect to be served. Create within me a lamb-like spirit, even as Christ our Lord had. Give me wisdom in the role of a parent, so that my children might rise up and call me blessed. May I love my mate and my children with Your love. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

Dear Lord, if one does not expect much of those who are in leadership positions, then probably that person does not demand much of himself or herself! ... It is true that we are to encourage others -- family members, fellow workers, friends, teachers, ministers, and government leaders; however, it is questionable whether anyone should depend on such encouragement for one's sole motivation. If we find ourselves saying, "Lord, I feel so unworthy," we are apt to hear Him say, "For heaven's sake, and yours, get worthy!" ... Remind us that You, Lord, are ready to be our helper, our joy-giver, and the supplier of all our needs! You want us to learn to depend on You, and not others, for our sense of self worth and well being. ... Help me to resolve to spend quality time with You each day in prayer and meditation, so that in my times of trouble we will not be strangers to each other!

In Jesus' name I pray.

Amen.

A Clean Mind

Ephesians 5:5

Dear Father, Holy God,

You have warned me that I can be sure of this: that no fornicator or impure person, or one who is covetous (idolatrous!) has any inheritance in the kingdom that belongs to you and Christ.

Furthermore, keep me from enjoying as entertainment the depiction of such things in books or magazines, or on the stage or on television.

Help me to understand that most of what comes through these media is from the minds and imaginations of unregenerate people, whose gods are self, money, power, and sensual indulgence.

In the name of Jesus I ask for the purity of mind and spirit that was in him. Amen.
