And why should us addicts watch a sunset, read an inspiring passage, or embrace a friend with a warm hug...
why??
because recovery is all about discovering who we are, what we are, and being involved with all the magic & wonder of this world & everything in it.
To not see the beauty of what life has to offer is a real pity. To be so wrapped up in one's self & problems that they cannot enjoy life, is IMHO, an insult to our maker.

Live, Love, Laugh & Learn.... those are the key elements we need to be happy in life... and our recovery.

But we aren't a glum lot. If newcomers could see no joy or fun in our existence, they wouldn't want it. We absolutely insist on enjoying life. We try not to indulge in cynicism over the state of the nations, nor do we carry the world's troubles on our shoulders.
