My first post

I am in my 50's and have two sons in college. They are the most important things in my life. Because of my drinking I feel that I have disappointed them. I know I can't change the past - all I want is to have a better future.

I would love to talk about my issues on this site and find some friends who I can really relate to. I have been to AA meetings in the past but find that I have some trouble relating to the people at those meetings. I feel that their experiences were different from mine and this prevented me from moving forward with AA. I simply didn't feel as if I could easily connect to the members at the meetings very easily.

I hope that through the people I meet on this site I can keep my focus on sobriety.
