Thank-you, I am a veteran of the USN, I served four long, long years. Even though I was in the grips of my active addiction, I loved my country and would have died for it, then and now. My views on war have changed dramaticaly since 1979, I would not pick up a weapon against anyone except to protect Christ, my family and other christians. And for these people, I will die.
thanks again for observing Vet.s day.

I felt Much like Snugsnug I served the USAf for 8 tremendously long years because my addictions flourished in that enviroment. Yet I still feel the pride of serving my country but I feel I would have more of a asset had I been sober at the time.
Have a great Veterans Day!

Growing up, I couldn't wait for Veterans Day. It was a day off from school. But mostly it meant presents! You see, I was born on Veterans day. Growing up even more, I enlisted in the USAF in May 68. Served in Okinawa...My deepest respect for those who have commited so much for their countrys. My Prayer for the future, is that we can mass the same spirit, to bring Love, Care and Support to the world. Not war!

My husband was in the USAF for 12 years. He was in during the Persian Gulf war. We were stationed in Turkey at the time. I and my oldest daughter who was 2 at the time were evacuated from Turkey when the war started. I was also 7 months pregnant at the time with our second child. I was with my husband during the whole 12 years. One of the most touching and memorial moments during all those years was July 4, 1991 when they had the celebration on the Incirlik AFB, Turkey when they played God Bless The USA - Proud To Be An American. All the Americans stood. Women cried. It brings tears to my eyes when I think of it now. Living in another country made me appreciate the freedom we have in the USA and those who have served and serve the USA.
