Dear Heavenly Father, We thank You for good and righteous leaders in our businesses, in our cities and in our nations. Lord, remove those who are wicked, so that righteousness might reign in the earth. Father, cleanse our societies of those who prey on the weak, the helpless, and the innocent children. Deliver us from evil. May Your kingdom come in the earth, as it is in heaven. Hallowed be Thy name, and in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, we thank You for Christian believers who defend You as Creator of our universe and our humanity. Whether it took six of our 24-hour days or six of Your 1,000-year days,* here we are, and apes are still apes! What does matter is that we can enjoy the complex nature, the beauty, and the awesomeness of Your creation. However, without building a relationship with You, our "great knowledge" may very well bring on our downfall. ... Forgive us, Lord, for our arrogance, our willfulness, our immaturity, and our self-centeredness. Forgive us for thinking that we can manage our lives. ... our nation, and our world-relations without seeking Your guidance. Teach us to want more of You, not less; to see that without You we cannot fulfill Your purposes or our dreams. You alone are our only hope, our sustaining grace.

In Jesus' name we pray.

Amen.

Setbacks into Stepping Stones

Philippians 1:12-20

Dear Father,

Take the setbacks of our lives and use them to further the proclamation of your Good News about Jesus to the world.

Let such things become a source of encouragement to our brethren when they see the valor of those who bear up under adversity. May every hardship spur your people on to boldly speak your word without fear!

Even when your word is proclaimed for the wrong reason, we rejoice, for your word of salvation is nevertheless proclaimed.

Father, we rejoice in the way you comfort and remain faithful to us.

We are thankful that the prayers of our fellow believers rise night and day for us and for the good of your kingdom.

In the name of King Jesus I ask. Amen.
