Dear Heavenly Father, I am grateful for Your bountiful provision in every area of my life. Lord, I do not want to cling to the things of this world and lean upon them for my security. May I always know that my security and blessings come from You, and You alone; no matter what source or channel You have chosen to bless me through. Lord, I am grateful for my blessings, but I never want to put them above You. Deliver me from the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life and the love of money. May I always desire the true riches of Your kingdom above any earthly treasures. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Dear Father God, help me to understand where self-esteem ends and pride begins. ... You must know that today's teaching is that most people don't have enough self-esteem, and that children should be taught to "feel good" about themselves. ... Is it not so that You have created each of us with the gift of life, and an uniqueness in Your sight that comprises individual ability and purpose, to be discovered and developed? ... Parents should help each child to understand this, and encourage each to do his/her best. ... The more talented persons have more responsibility, but everyone has some quality that needs to be developed and used for one's own best interests, and for society's good. These are the blessings; the danger is in letting self-esteem become over-bearing pride! Help me to see this, Father.
In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen.

Philippians 2:1-2
Dear Father, One God of your one holy people,
Help me never to be a party to any division within the body of Christ. Let me be perfectly united in mind and heart with all others who follow you.
Help me not to be some kind of -ite, -ist, or -anian. Keep me from misplacing my loyalties with this person or that!
Christ, of whom I am part, is not divided. He is of one mind. So let me and all his people be together and in agreement.
Let us be like-minded, having the same love, one in spirit and purpose.
In the name of Jesus Christ, the source of our unity and salvation, I ask these things. Amen.
