Dear Heavenly Father, You are such an awesome God! Lord, help me to remember all the things You have done for me in the past, when I am tempted to doubt in my present difficult situation. Help me to daily walk in faith and to always trust You, and not lean unto my own understanding. Deliver me from pride and fear, as these twin evils are aimed at destroying my faith. Give me a love for reading the Bible and open my understanding to the things You desire to reveal to me in Your Word; and then, Lord, give me the grace to obey all that You speak to me. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

Dear Lord, as we get caught up in the materialism of our fast-paced world today, let us pause to consider some special words of an unknown writer --
Money will buy a bed, but not sleep.
Money will buy books, but not brains.
Money will buy food, but not an appetite.
Money will buy finery, but not beauty.
Money will buy a house, but not a home.
Money will buy medicine, but not health.
Money will buy luxuries, but not happiness.
Money will buy religion, but not salvation.
Money will buy a passport to anywhere but heaven.
Help us each to see that our lives are meaningless without You.
In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.

A Precious Promise
Philippians 3:8
Dear Father, Keeper of all your promises,
You have promised: "Be faithful unto death and I will give you a crown of life." Thank you for such a precious promise! You are so gracious to me!
Help me to count everything as loss for the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus as my Lord. For his sake I would gladly suffer the loss of all things - at least I hope I would - and count them as refuse, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him.
Father, you know my heart. You know that I don't want a righteousness of my own based on self-sufficient rule-keeping, but one which comes from trusting Christ.
I want the righteousness that you provide when I commit myself to your trustworthy care.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Protect Them
Father, I'm praying for (name one or more) and those who are serving with him/her, and for their families...
The Bible tells us You're our rock, our fortress, and our shield— and these people on my heart need You to be all these things and more! They don't have to be in the heat of battle to be in danger; the world is a dangerous place wherever they are. (Psalm 18:2)
Grant them new life, that they may run under Your wings when they face danger of any kind; cover them with Your feathers. Help them stay in constant touch with You, living in Your presence. Then send Your angels to surround them and guard them wherever they go! ( John 3:3, 5; Psalm 57:1; 91:1–2, 4, 9, 11; 2 Kings 6:17)
Help them turn to You as their refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. Go before them and protect them from behind. Be their shade from the heat, their shelter from the storm, their hiding place—protect them from trouble. Watch over them, for You never sleep. Their lives are in Your hands; may they trust in You and not be afraid. (Psalm 46:1; Isaiah 52:12; 25:4b; Psalm 32:7a; 121:4–5; 31:15; 56:11)
In Jesus' name, amen.
