Preparing for the End
Philippians 4:7-11
Dear Father, victorious deliverer,
May I be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, based on rule-keeping but that which is through trust in Christ, the righteousness of God that depends on trust, that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that if possible, I might attain the resurrection of the dead.
O God, let me obtain it! Let me be awake! Let me put on the armor of light! Let me put on the Lord Jesus and his righteousness, and be found in him! Let me trust, obey, even suffer, in order to have the victory!
In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, We thank You for the blessing of children. Lord, help all Christian parents to heed the Bible's instructions for rearing their children. Father, there are many different voices in the world telling us how to do things; however, we want to know what the Bible says about child rearing. Lord, since You created us, then surely Your advice would be the best advice to follow, as You know how to do all things in perfection. Give us divine wisdom in the area of child rearing and give us grace to spank our children when they need that discipline. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Dear Lord Jesus, as my life seems to pick up speed and is in danger of going into a "spin-cycle," help me to stop and recall the true meaning of this Advent season. ... It is not all this running around, this frantic activity, lists and cards, feasts and festivals; it's You, Lord, isn't it? It's commemorating Your gift to man - Mary's divine visitation, her supreme faith and acceptance of the angel's message, and Your gift forever after to all who will believe. ... Your gift has changed my life! Oh Lord, help me to slow down and remember to make this coming Christmas Your day!
In Your holy name I pray.
Amen.
