Hi all I just wanted to share a little about my situation. Yes I lost my job. Cut back's and all that stuff. The sad part is I just got my review and a raise and there was no telling this was comming. My first reaction was to get upset. Why? because I had no controll over it. My second reaction was to look for a smoke. Yes I recently stopped smoking one day at a time and then I looked for a drink. You know after everything that I know or have done It still pops in my mind so easily. Why because I'm an alcoholic. This is what I know. No I didn't drink or smoke. Thank God.!!! I made a phone call, talk about it. Met up with my sponser at a diner. You know what I found out? That I wanted that drink bad because I drank water at the diner and I held it and taste it like it was scotch. Amazing this disease. I am so grateful today for my HP and friends and my tools. With out them I would be so along and so distroyed. Today I'm ok. Bum a little bit but I have house work to catch up on and there is two jobs I applied for. So the footwork is in and rest is up to my HP. Thank you for letting me share. Rich :D

Hi Rich...Thanks for sharing. I just came from a meeting. One of the shares reminded me of you and your mention of tools. He talked of visulizing a tool belt loaded with all the tools of recovery. He also recognized the need to reach to his belt and pick out a tool when needed. We've all got the tools. Wouldn't be here without them. But are we in the habit of reaching for the tools when we need them. I think this takes practice, and will lead to long term, quality sobriety. I'm glad your using your tools today, and sharing about it...Your Friend...Mike:D
