So I had my voice recital today. As usual they said I sounded gorgeous and looked like I was having fun. But of course I was all hyped up on caffeine and amphetamines so I was extra jittery.

Then I thought, it would be nice to not only connect to other addicts but also to other musicians. So does anyone here sing or play an instrument? In addition to singing (dramatic coloratura soprano if you're curious) I also play the piano and I wanna learn to play the guitar and the violin.

Hey Rizzo...I read your songs. Nice stuff...Your talented. I've re-entered recovery about 4 mo ago. In my early 20's I played in several bands. Was writing songs poety and sought out all things creative. We began expanding our horizons with drugs of all sorts in those days. It was the early 70's, SF Area and life was good. I slowly became more addicted to drugs and the arts began to take a back seat. I sold my Fender Strat (1967,USA made) for under a grand. Then amps, mic's...It all went away. I finally got clean, 1st time, when I was 29. Got married, morgage, kids. That had been OK. The marrage, house, kids ect...have gone away with this latest recovery. I've been directed back to the arts. I'm writing, singing (or trying to). Involved with my guitar and other musicians. Learning photography...I'm not telling you this to toot my horn. I've read you posts. I think of Vanessa Carlton, Jewel, ect...I would have hated that their talents were robbed from us as a result of drug addiction. I'd hate to see your talents robbed from us. You come Back. Don't wait till your 59 or worse, like Janis, Jimmy, Jim, and on and on...Love You Sweety...Mike...:D

What mike is trying is trying to say you are very talented and i second that. Those are all musicians that died because of drug overdoses and didnt get the chance to come back honey. You are very talented....build on that and dont give up....keep on comin back ok.:42:
