Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for the many women over the years who have dedicated their children to the Lord and those children have in turn, served You. May I, and all mothers, realize the awesome responsibility and opportunity we have to raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Use our children in Your kingdom and cause them to become strong Christian witnesses. May they speak the Word of the Lord, even as we speak and teach the Word to them. Use them as Your humble servants and keep them from evil. I ask this in the name of the Lord, Jesus. Amen.

December 18

Dear Lord, if commitment means sacrifice, if commitment means always putting You first, if commitment means promising to grow in Your Word, if commitment means grit and endurance, if it means being a part of the "BODY of CHRIST," and not just being able to quote scripture - then Lord, there is no way that I can make it on my own. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that in my life I may find the wisdom, the strength, and the power I need to carry out this commitment that I now make to You.

In Jesus' name I pray.

Amen.

Alive in Christ

Colossians 2:13-19

Dear Father,

Thank you for redeeming us. You took us out of deadness and gave us life. You made us alive together with Christ. You cancelled the debts that we owed you because of our sinfulness.

You disarmed the powers that work against us, triumphing over them in Christ for our sake.

How gracious and wonderful you are. To you we owe eternal praise.

Help us to withstand anyone who might seek to disqualify us, seeking to bind us to any principle of action at all except faith in Jesus Christ, for he is the head, and he determines how the body will grow.

Help us to hold fast to Christ, who is our head, in whose name I pray. Amen.
