I am still new here and am still getting the feel for things so I hope I'm posting in the right spots and doing right. If not please contact me and let me know.
Although I am christian now, (not so you could tell, don't expect to see me in church sunday morning wareing a suit) there was a time when I wasn't so sure. But one night in a meeting a heard a pot bellied, crew cut man with army galsses (some one "I" at the time, didn't think would have anything to say that "I" would be interested in), say something I will never forget.
He said he didn't want to be around a bunch of "bible thumpers" so he didn't go to meetings. But after drinking a case of beer a day for as long as he could remember he finally, in desperation started going. He was told, he said to "not drink and go to meetings for 90 days and if he wasn't happy he would have a butt load of money to go out and pull a good one".
Then he laid it on us. He said, "that it didn't take him long to understand that, God hadn't opened up the gates of heaven to let him in, he had opened up the gates of hell and let him out."
That was the first time I had heard that statment and I belive it to be, for me anyway, the absolute truth.
