I have been clean for thirty-four and a half years now and I have never seen a braver, more conscientious NA member than Dalin. He not only walks the talk, he works his 12 Steps of NA and continuously calls me with concerns over this one or that one who seem to be drifting away from working their Steps. He does this only because he cares and knows how today's resentment is tomorrows headstone.
Dalin is also impressive in his ability to deal with all the matters relating to the personal damage he has suffered from a harsh stroke years ago that took away his ability to hold a pencil and write long hand. Some of you may not even realize this but amazingly he has developed into an accomplished recovery writer by use of a keyboard. He is a brave man who is not afraid to stand on principle in a firm but non-aggressive manner. I wish I had his patience some times. He was a lonely man until Maureen came into his life and moving to Ontario has made a new man of him. Sitting with the geese across from his apartment in Missasauga, we had the best time talking about recovery and the miracles we have seen. I look forward to visiting your spirited and gracious Fellowship again someday.
