Learning His Peace
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you; because he trusts in you. (Isa 26:3)

Such a promise! But let's face it- we get sidetracked by our own agendas. Christian, we get into trouble when we trust in ourselves and not in our good Shepherd- he has plans for us.
Maybe you've heard the joke:
How can you make God laugh?
Tell him your plans.
Paul the apostle said that he learned the secret to contentment: "I can do all things through him who strengthens me." But he also said that he learned it in each and every circumstance- whether he was up or down, rich or poor, hungry or well fed.
God is training us too. Let's learn to be preoccupied with Christ in whatever we do- it takes practice. Let's pray.
Lord, thank you for true hope. When we look to our performance, we become discouraged. Thank you for your encouragement and your promise. Help us to be preoccupied with you. When we stumble, help us turn quickly and trust in you again. Amen.
Today's very great and precious promise
I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (Phi 4:13)
We have God's Word on it.
