We are staring to plan for our yearly event here in North Eastern Ohio.(G.L..A.S.C.N.A. AREA)

Over the last 22 years, our event has changed a little each year. with new committee members and new ideas we usually have new things to experience new year.
I'm on the programming committee and I thought I would ask for suggestions for our event here at the tribe.
• Do you know of any meeting type formats that were interesting, or new?
• Do you have any suggestions about a weekend in the woods (minimal convinces) that would help us with our topics for meeting?

• Any suggestion for children’s activities?

• Any idea about what type of things and ways to auction of NA/recovery type stuff?

• Ideas for workshop topic?
• Ways to include the younger people/non-addicts as well?

• Do you have any ways that you know of to keep our costs down?

• Ever came up with way to work with the campgrounds by say renting the grounds for a weekend - rather than camping cost registration cost?
Please offer us anything you can think of. Regardless of which fellowship you may be part of - recovery in the woods knows no boundaries!

Thanks

We have recovery by the sea here and we set a tent and evryone camps on the beach and have meetings all day and a bomb fie at night.Mostly speakers meeting. We action off all kinds off stuff just whatever people donate services as well.there was carwahs, sports tickets, and chainsaws.we aslo sold raffle tickets for the 8:00 speakers meeting for baskets with some dailet reflectios books and other recovery stuff.I think wew raffled off some 10 baskets of cool stuff. If there is a lake You can look into who has a boat and do some skiing or pullling big tube behind the boat.Do the best you can and god will take care of rest.BE BLESSEED

see if you can get items and do a silent auction, this will help raise money for the prudent reserve, help you to afford sponsorships for people new/unemployed that would like to attend.

as far as kids, avoid having them there. Pick a theme MENS Retreat, WOMENS Retreat, Mixed (open to both sexes) kids are a **** distraction. go camping if you want kids, go to a retreat center if you want a spiritual retreat.

covered dishes will keep the cost down, and allow for a potluck dinner on friday night.
charge for the weekend, not nightly, this will get attendace up and participation up throught the entire weekend..

Bring in a retreatant to host the weekend they will guide the topics for the weekend. it will cost you but what you get in return, organization, structure, topics, are well worth the investment.
