My name is Matthew. I am an addict. Mostly addicted to pills of all varieties but I would do other things as well. I have been sober now since Feb. 26, 2008. I did have a short relapse in September but thank God I survived it to get through and continue on with my sobriety. I'm scared, I'm lonely, and I'm confused. I pray God will continue to bless me with another day and I still wake up the next morning. Even with all the problems I still face, my greatest accomplishment in life is that I face them sober and that allows me to take care of them. I've faced a lot of my problems for many years, but I am finally facing them sober. Before, I never could get anything taken care of. I pray many times a day and believe that God will show me the way through this life. I just wanted to drop in and say hi, and that I'm glad I found a place like this online (or anywhere for that matter) that I can share my feelings. I go to meetings as often as possible, but I have no job now and it's hard to get around in my car when I have no money for gas you know. Anyways. Thanks for letting me speak my peace.

Hi Mr. KS, welcome to our group. Sounds like your doing pretty good. Nothing like letting your feeling out on line though. I like face to face meetings, but I get more out of being on line because I can speak my mind. Hope to see you around more!

matthew! ok..ive only been sober for two weeks...and i give terrible advice...but anyways...I know you are scared..b/c i am too...but being scared is the feeling of fear. Before...if i felt any emotion...i would drink...and be numb...and not deal with it. The past two weeks...i have felt many emotions..some good..some bad...but im FEELING...and it's pretty amazing....now just finding ways to deal with the emotions is the next part....make sure you come back and read what people are posting...it's really helping me....laters...
