Hello to all! 31 years old and I've been sober for about 12 days...I'd be lying if I said I didnt want a drink. I do. But then I think of how I have felt lately without alcohol..and I will not allow myself to go back to the person I was just days ago. This is my third time quitting...and I'm gonna do it this time. I feel this is my last chance at life. I've hurt alot of people that I love...also I've hurt myself. I have alot to offer to this crazy world....just got to figure out exactly what....anywhos...just trying to find hobbies...things to occupy my time. Trying to allow myself to feel...my mind is just constantly going non stop. Anyways...I want to go to an AA meeting..but I'm so scared and nervous. I don't know why...it's not that I'm ashamed...I can't put my finger on it....but I have to get the courage and go...they said that AA is a big factor in staying sober...and I choose to do that....ok..I'm signing off...just wanted to say hi....

Hi Marjie, congrats on your sober time! I go to AA and I think I'd be drinking without it. I get a lot out of meetings and the nice people who are involved in them. It's a whole nother world.

Hi Marjie, :88:on your sober time, Please KEEP COMING:15:.The more I surround myself with other recovering people, the better I feel. I belong to both fellowship's, the more I kept coming the better I felt. The more I practice the program ,the better I got with living with life on life terms. Im coming up on 3 years clean, the Obsession to use or drink has lifted, but I still think about it :15:, But that do'nt mean I have to pick up. please keep coming :15:. :77::62: :85:.

Hi Marjie,
:67: I am glad that you are here. :89: on your sober time. We all do it one day at a time. You will find much encouragement and support. I have developed some friendships here and I know that I am not alone, neither are you!! By the grace of God and the fellowship of AA and my church family, after drinking and using for over 40 years I have been sustance free for a little over 19 months.

Hello marjie,
Welcome to CRF, its nice to meet you.
So very glad you are here with us and as you can see this is a very friendly and supportative place and we need you as well so please keep on coming back. Yes please do go to a meeting. I know you are scarred but what could it hurt to have face to face support of others who have been exactly where you are. It will be ok and i know you'll be pleasently surprized. We would all like to wish you much love and many blessings on your journey of recovery and discovery.

Welcome to the board and congrats on your sobriety! I only have 23 days myself so I totally understand where you are at. I have been spending a lot of time reading, on the internet, going to (sometimes several) meetings daily, talking to my sponsor daily, reading my big book daily, journaling, going on walks, anything and everything to keep my mind off of what it wants to focus on....I'm sure you understand that. I also have a supply of jawbreakers candy that I am constantly snacking on :) !
You'll find a lot of great support here on these boards, keep coming back!
