I'm Erick, I'm 36 years old and have been clean for over 5 years now. I like this website as it gives me and other addicts an opportunity to stay in touch with other recovering addicts when we can't make it to meetings. I'm currently a college student with a Computer Science major, focusing on network Administration.

I have a rather busy schedule, and as I said, this site gives me a chance to get the message of recovery when I am swamped with homework.

Well, that's about all I have right now. Remember, we earned our spot in the rooms, and we don't need to keep coming back if we never leave. Have a good day all!

Hi Erick, I go to school too and I hear you on the homework! I use this place and others to keep me sober and hopefully help another in their process of recovering. Welcome!

When Things don’t go my Way

I realize when things don't go my way
I don't care what happens anymore
I stop trying.
I become a Live and Let Live person
even if it means Live and Let Die.
When things don't go my way
I engage in things that go my way.
Sometimes things that don't go my way
are lessons of life, or challenges.
Ahh but none the less, teaching excursions
I never asked for.
Some would say, 'Life on Life's Terms."
When things don't go my way,
it is not because of something wrong I've done.
I don't make wrong choices today.
I may do things the wrong way.
That makes me inexperienced.
I see the world with your same eyes
and feel the pain of the world with your same heart.
I too danced that same dance lost years ago.
I never thought it would seem so far away so soon.
As long as I have my legs,
I thought I would dance many more dances.
Today I dance wherever there is music.
A song to delight my soul.
And if I must dance alone or with two left feet
well...then I will continue to dance.
I will dance until that day when things finally do go my way.
When we can laugh and smile and dance the entire night away.
Like Old Friends, stepping to those same familiar steps
that only we have memorized and no one else can copy.
So lift up your spirit Old Friend.
Old; maybe.
Experienced and much more wiser.
Dance until the end of life!
