Why Is He Angry All The Time?

See my previous post about "I'm here because..."

My son hasn't been smoking, at least I don't think he has. But now he's walking around with a chip on his shoulder, and anger issues. Anything sets him off, it's ridiculous. Is this part of withdrawal? How long does it last? What's the best thing to do--leave him alone, hug him, confront him?

I thought when he quit smoking we were heading in the right direction, but I don't know where all this anger is coming from.

i'm nobody to give great advice...i'm not totally clean yet, lightyears bettr then i was at one time, but regardless..still a way to go. That being said. I smoked pot for over 20 years...bob marley deadhead...i only wish that was all i evr did, unfortuntely i moved onto 'just about eveyrthing at one time or another. I rarely smoke anymore..a) because i'm trying to quit drinking as well and b) at 38...weed does not make me feel like it used to...get paranoid etc and the weed today is so strong. But if he did indeed stop...because of your concern and threats, then as a teen, of course he is going to be resentful and in general ,pretty much all teens walk around w/ a chip on his shoulder.When the time is right, i'd confront him about it...but if was ''the smell'' that was giving it away,you really should think about the possiblitly that he's moved on to something that desn't ''smell'...ie coke or prescription drugs.
Dont know how great that advice that was, but he should know that you are not gullable and that there are other possiblities out there,maybe worse then 'weed.
I'd confront him about hs attitude when the time is right...Hope I didnt worry u worse...but since u posed the question in a public forum and i am(was/am/always..i guess) will be a pothead(even if i stopped..because i smoked 24/7)

Good luk, keep your eyes close on him,but at the same time,remeber that teens,boys,girls,doesnt matter...they usually are resentful at this age and walk around w/ chips on their shoulders. My ( .02)
