Nehemiah 4:9 A good summary of this verse might be “Trust God and use your head”. While we certainly cannot recover on our own, neither does God do it all on his own. We both have a part. God gives us power and resources and freedom, but we have to use those things wisely-to take care of ourselves, to set limits and boundaries, and to take precautions when necessary.

Nehemiah 5:1-19 Some of us may have resisted giving to the poor and needy because we have felt so needy ourselves, both emotionally and financially. But as we grow in our recovery, we will find it easier to give of our time and money-not out of guilt or obligation, but out of genuine freedom and compassion.
