Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer.
( Romans 12:12 *NIV )

We have hope because of our faith in our Savior Jesus
Christ, And hope does not disappoint us,
because God has poured out his love into
our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has
given us. ( Romans 5:5 )

Now when we are afflicted, we have God's promise that;
The righteous man is rescued from trouble,
and it comes on the wicked instead.
( Proverbs 11:8 ) For it is also written; "Never will
I leave you; never will I forsake you."
( Hebrews 13:5 )

Therefore, Do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
( Philippians 4:6 ) After all, it is written; The prayer
of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
( James 5:16 )

So , never let disappointments cause you to
lose hope, for God is always with you. Therefore my
friend, Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it
again: Rejoice! Amen! ( Philippians 4:4 )

Set your mind on things above, not on
things on the earth.
( Colossians 3:2 *NKJV )

It is very easy for us to get caught up in this materialistic
World of ours. Before we even know it we start desiring a
fancy new car, or a new home, or some other material
possession that soon dominates our hearts and minds.

Now these things can become the most important things
in our lives, and can not help replacing God as Number One
in our hearts! For where your treasure is, there your
heart will be also. ( Luke 12:34 )

After all, those who live according to the flesh
set their minds on the things of the flesh, but
those who live according to the Spirit, the things
of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death,
but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
( Romans 8:5-6 )

So keep your mind focused on Our Savior Jesus Christ so;
That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;
( Ephesians 3:17 ) For after all we are not human beings
having a Spiritual experience, but Spiritual beings having a
human experience!

Now , To Him who is able to do
exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or
think, according to the power that works in us,
to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to
all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
( Ephesians 3:20-21 )

The prayer of a righteous man is powerful
and effective.
( James 5:16 *NIV )

I truly believe that our prayers are the most powerful things
on Earth! After all what is a Miracle but a prayer that has
been answered!

Thus it is written; Do not be anxious about
anything, but in everything, by prayer and
petition, with thanksgiving, present your
requests to God. ( Philippians 4:6 ) After all, The
Lord is far from the wicked but he hears the
prayer of the righteous. ( Proverbs 15:29 )

Now I know that when our prayers aren't answered the
way we would like, it can disappoint us, we are sad and often
depressed. However it is written that we should; Be joyful
always; pray continually; give thanks in all
circumstances, for this is God's will for you in
Christ Jesus. ( 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 )

Therefore , never feel that God doesn't hear your
prayers because a prayer isn't answered immediately, or
because it isn't answered the way you would like. For your
Heavenly Father always knows what is best for you, and;
He will never leave you nor forsake you.
( Deuteronomy 31:6 )

So My friend, remember to always; Give thanks to
the Lord, call on His name, for He will always
hear the prayers of those who love and adore
Him! ( 1 Chronicles 16:8 )

In closing my prayer is that; The grace of the
Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and
the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Now and always! Amen! ( 2 Corinthians 13:14 )

to me, and do not hinder them, for the
kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

Since Mother's Day is tomorrow, I have decided to share a
laugh or two with you this morning about Mom's. The following
message was sent to me by one of our subscriber's, and I
hope that you will enjoy the message as much as I did.

at work.

1. Mothers don't do spare time.

2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

Q----"What Would It Take To Make Your Mom Perfect?"

Would It Be?"

1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean.
I'd get rid of that.

2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my
sister who did it and not me.

This message is dedicated to all Mother's

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MOM!

For this is what the Lord says; As a
mother comforts her child, so will I
comfort you;
( Isaiah 66:13 *NIV )

We can not measure the tremendous love that God
has for His Children in human terms. However, I do
believe the closest thing on Earth to that great love,
is the love a Mother has for her child!

Therefore, on this day we honor that special lady
in our life, our Mother. So; May your father
and mother be glad; may she who gave you
birth rejoice! ( Proverbs 23:25 ) and may she
be filled with God's Love, Hope, Faith, and Peace today
and everyday!

The following was sent to me by one of our Brother's-
In-Christ, some time ago. I feel that it is appropriate to
share it with you today. It is called:

Why are you crying, Mom?

"Why are you crying?" he asked his Mom. "Because I'm a
woman" she told him. "I don't understand," he said. His
Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will"..........

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother
seem to cry for no reason? "All women cry for no reason"
was all his dad could say........

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering
why women cry...

Finally he put in a call to GOD; when GOD got on the phone
the man said, "GOD, why do women cry so easily?"
and GOD said.......

When I made woman, she had to be special. I made her
shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the World;
yet, gentle enough to give comfort....

I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the
rejection that many times comes from her children......

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when
everyone else gives up and take care of her family through
sickness and fatigue without complaining......

I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and
all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very
badly...

This same sensitivity helps her to make a child's boo-boo
feel better and shares in their teenagers anxieties and
fears.......

I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults
and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.....

I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts
his wife, but, sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve
to stand beside him unfalteringly.....

I gave her tears to shed. They are hers to use whenever she
needs them. They are her secret strength. They make her
more like ME.....

Let heaven and earth praise Him,
the seas and all that move in them,
( Psalms 69:34 *NIV )

There are times when we may feel that there is nothing to
praise God for. After all life can become very difficult at times.
So when you are feeling that way why not read the 103rd
Psalm, for David lists several reasons to praise God in that
Psalm.

For example, David wrote;
Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being,
praise His holy name.

Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His
benefits

Who forgives all your sins and heals all your
diseases,

Who redeems your life from the pit and crowns
you with love and compassion,

Who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
Now those are just the first five verses, there are
seventeen more verses to be found. (Psalms 103:1-5 )

When you think about it, the list is really endless! So
come let us praise the Lord and; Come, let us bow
down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord
our Maker; for He is our God and we are the
people of His pasture, the flock under His care.
( Psalms 95:6-7 )

Have a Greatl Day,, and may the love of Christ
fill your heart and mind, now and always! Amen.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears My voice and opens
the door, I will come in to him and dine
with him, and he with Me.
( Revelations 3:20 *NKJV )

Jesus' is knocking on the door of our heart every time that
we feel moved to go to Church, or to study the Word of God etc.
For when Jesus knocks we automatically sense that we should
turn to Him.

Now when we open the door of our hearts to Him, He
promises us; I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit
within you; I will take the heart of stone out of
your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
( Ezekiel 36:26 )

So , don't let problems stop you from opening
the door of your heart all the way, and always keep it open!
For then you will never miss Jesus when He knocks; and let
the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which
also you were called in one body; and be
thankful. ( Colossians 3:15 )

In closing may; The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,
and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy
Spirit be with you, my friend! Amen.

Jesus looked at them and said, "With
men it is impossible, but not with God;
for with God all things are possible."
( Mark 10:27 *NKJV )

When we put all of our faith in God, He will help us
through life's problems, and bless us as well!
However; Without faith it is impossible to please
Him, for he who comes to God must believe
that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those
who diligently seek Him. ( Hebrews 11:6 )

Now when we have faith in God it pleases Him
and we become filled with true peace; and the
peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus. ( Philippians 4:7 )

After all what is the opposite of faith, but worry itself!!
So do not let doubt enter your mind, for after all God has
said; "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh.
Is there anything too hard for Me?"
( Jeremiah 32:27 ) It is also written that; When a
man's ways please the Lord, He makes even
his enemies to be at peace with him.
( Proverbs 16:7 )

So my prayer for you is; that you may
walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being
fruitful in every good work and increasing in the
knowledge of God. ( Colossians 1:10 ) Amen!

Bearing with one another, and forgiving
one another, if anyone has a complaint
against another; even as Christ forgave
you, so you also must do.
( Colossians 3:13 *NKJV )

Now I know that forgiving another is hard for us
to do at times, but when we remember how very much
God has forgiven us; it becomes much less difficult to
do. After all, just thinking about God's tremendous Love
and Forgiveness can help us to forgive and love each
other.

So as God's Children we should; not returning
evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the
contrary blessing, knowing that you were
called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
( 1 Peter 3:9 )

Therefore; Let all bitterness, wrath, anger,
clamor, and evil speaking be put away from
you, with all malice. And be kind to one
another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
( Ephesians 4:31-32 )

So forgive those who offend you, and do
not try to get even; For we know him who said, "It is
mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The
Lord will judge his people." ( Hebrews 10:30 )

Wishing you a beautiful day on God's green Earth,
and may; The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
be with you all. Amen. ( Revelations 22:21 )

He who sits in the heavens shall laugh
( Psalm 2:4 *NKJV )

Now I know that I am using this verse totally
out of context, but our Heavenly Father truly has

the Bloopers actually found in Church Bulletins!
For; He will yet fill your mouth
with laughing., And your lips with
rejoicing. ( Job 8:21 )

The outreach committee has enlisted 25 visitors to
make calls on people who are not "afflicted" with
any church.

The Ladies Bible Study will be held Thursday

congregation would lend him their electric "girdles" for
the pancake breakfast next Sunday morning.

The audience is asked to remain seated until the end
of the recession.

Ushers will eat latecomers

For those of you who have children and don't know it,
we have a nursery downstairs.

The Rev. Meriwether spoke briefly, much to the
delight of the audience.

Due to the Rector's illness, Wednesday's healing
services will be discontinued until further notice.

Next Sunday Mrs. Vinson will be soloist for the
morning service. The pastor will then speak on "It's a
Terrible Experience."

Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our
church and community.

church secretary.

8 new choir robes are currently needed due to the
addition of several new members and to the
deterioration of some older ones.

The Lord upholds all who fall, and raises
up all who are bowed down.
( Psalms 145:14 *NKJV )

Sometimes our burdens seem more than we can
bear, and we wonder how we will ever get through them.

When you feel that way remember to call on our Heavenly
Father for, The Lord is near to all who call
upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them.
( Psalms 145:18-19 )

Further, He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases
strength. For; Those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength; They shall mount
up with wings like eagles, They shall run and
not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
( Isaiah 40:29 & 31 )

After all our Heavenly Father is; The Lord is gracious
and full of compassion, slow to anger and
great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, and His
tender mercies are over all His works.
( Psalms 145:8-9 )

So never feel that you must face those tough times
alone, for GOD loves you and is with you all of the time! So;
Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall
sustain you; He shall never permit the
righteous to be moved. Amen.

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him
( 1 John 3:1 *NKJV )

We are Children of God and thus are His heirs as well! For it is written; Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. ( Galatians 4:6-7 )

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
( Romans 8:15 )
[*"Abba" is an Aramaic word meaning Father]

Now what a wonderful honor this gift from God is! He has already given us His very best gifts: His Son, Forgiveness, and Eternal Life, and now the special gift of being a member of His family as well!

So the next time that you are feeling depressed because of things in this World, and nothing seems to be going right in your life, remember whose child you are! That should cheer you up, and make your day as well! Amen!

To keep me from becoming conceited
because of these surpassingly great
revelations, there was given me a thorn
in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to
torment me
( 2 Corinthians 12:7 *NIV )

It is believed that the "thorn" Paul was talking about was his
poor eye sight! After all it is known that Paul dictated almost
all of his letters (or Books) to the Apostle Luke to write for him.
Paul even made reference to his poor vision when he wrote;
See what large letters I use as I write to you
with my own hand! ( Galatians 6:11 )

It must have been very hard for the Apostle Paul to have such
poor eye sight for he stated that; Three times I pleaded
with the Lord to take it away from me. But he
said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for
my power is made perfect in weakness."
( 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 )

Isn't it wonderful my friend that God's Grace is there for us
as well! Therefore; Let us then approach the
throne of grace with confidence, so that we
may receive mercy and find grace to help
us in our time of need. ( Hebrews 4:16 )

So , when you face difficulties in your life, try to be
like Paul, for he said; Therefore I will boast all the
more gladly about my weaknesses, so that
Christ's power may rest on me. That is why,
for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in
insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in
difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am
strong. ( 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 )

Now my friend; Grace to you and peace from God
our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the
Lord make his face shine upon you and
be gracious to you; the Lord turn his
face toward you and give you peace.
( Numbers 6:24-26 *NIV )

Often when we count our blessings we forget many of them.
So today I will share a few with you that we never think about.

Now the following was sent to me by one of our subscribers,
and it gives us some of the blessings to count!

If you woke up this morning
with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the
million who won't survive the week.

If you have never experienced
the danger of battle,
the loneliness of imprisonment,
the agony of torture or
the pangs of starvation,
you are ahead of 20 million people
around the world.

If you can attend a church meeting
without fear of harassment,
arrest, torture, or death,
you are more blessed than almost
three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over
your head and a place to sleep,
you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank,
in your wallet, and spare change
in a dish someplace, you are among
the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If your parents are still married and alive,
you are very rare, especially in this World
today.

If you hold up your head with a smile
on your face and are truly thankful,
you are blessed because the majority can,
but most do not.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them
or even touch them on the shoulder,
you are blessed because you can
offer God's healing touch.

If you can read this message,
you are more blessed than over
two billion people in the world
that cannot read anything at all.

You are so blessed in ways
you may never even know.

So , let us; Give thanks to the Lord,
for He is good; His love endures forever.
Amen. ( Psalms 118:29 )

meditation of my heart be acceptable
in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and
my Redeemer.
( Psalms 19:14 *NKJV )

The Prophet David, in this Psalm, asked God to approve
his words and thoughts as though they were offerings
brought to the Altar.

When you think about it, God hears all of our words for
it is written; Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O Lord.
( Psalms 139:4 ) And sometimes, unfortunately; Out
of the same mouth proceed blessing and
cursing. My brethren, these things ought not
to be so. ( James 3:10 )

Therefore be careful of the words you say, and be sure
not to break the Third Commandment, which is; You shall
not take the name of the Lord your God in vain,
for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes
His name in vain. ( Exodus 20:7 )

So always keep your words soft & sweet
for; Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.
After all our own words, just like David's, are also like
offerings brought to God's Holy Altar! Amen.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the
death of His saints.
( Psalms 116:15 *NKJV )

We all experience the death of our loved one's while we
are here on Earth. Therefore we may take comfort in
knowing that they are now with God. For it is written that
when we die; Then the dust will return to the
earth as it was, and the spirit will return to
God who gave it. ( Ecclesiastes 12:7 )

So , take comfort in knowing you will see them
again, for it isn't the end of them but only the beginning!
The beginning of a much better life where; God will
wipe away every tear from their eyes; there
shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor
crying. There shall be no more pain, for the
former things have passed away.
( Revelation 21:4 )

Now if you have just experienced the loss of a loved one,
the following message is for you! It has Ministered to many
and I pray that it will help you as well. Further, if you haven't
experienced that loss, perhaps you know someone who has
and would appreciate receiving it. If so, please feel free to
share it with them!

So as we begin this Memorial Day Weekend, let us remember
those who have passed away, and also remember that those
who were saved are now.....

"SAFELY HOME"

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I an now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! But Jesus' love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.

And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still:
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.

There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth,
You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!

Memorial Day 2009

For God so loved the world that He gave
His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but
have everlasting life.
( John 3:16 *NKJV )

As you know today we remember our loved one's who have
passed before us, and we may take comfort in knowing that; God
will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there
shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying.
There shall be no more pain, for the former
things have passed away. ( Revelation 21:4 )

Therefore, as we honor our loved one's who have been called
home to be with our Heavenly Father, let us not forget those
hero's who have lost their lives defending our Country. Also
all of those innocent victims of September 11 as well, for they
too are hero's! Hero's indeed!

Now Me, I would like to share a poem with you. A
poem dedicated to all of those brave hero's, and to our loved
one's as well! It is titled:

I'M FREE

Don't grieve for me for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

But be not burdened with times of sorrow,
For I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full. I've savored much,
Good friends, good times and loved ones' touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your ears and share with me.
God wanted me now. He set me free!

He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; The Lord is gracious and full of compassion.
( Psalms 111:4 *NKJV )

No matter where we are in this World, when we look around us, we see God's wonderful work everywhere. It is no wonder that the twenty-four elders before the throne of God praise Him and say, ""You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being." ( Rrevelation 4:11 )

Have you ever taken the time to enjoy a beautiful sunrise or sunset? Ever noticed the beauty of a rose? Ever looked at the mountains or the ocean with awe? Ever spend time just looking at the beautiful clouds above, or at a rainbow after a storm?

God's beautiful creation, and His great Love surrounds us when we take the time to notice . For, He has made everything beautiful in its time. ( Eecclesiasts 3:11 ) So why not stop for a moment today, and take a look around, savoring all the beautiful sights? You will find that a great peace will fall upon you when you do!

Now may the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, by with you today and always, as you enjoy your Heavenly Father's wonderful works! God Bless You Amen.

Return to the Lord your God, for he is
gracious and compassionate, slow to
anger and abounding in love.
( Joel 2:13 *NIV )

There are times when our faith runs thin and we may
even find ourselves walking far from God. When that
happens, it is because we moved away from
Him, not because He moved away from us.

Now if that happens to you remember it is written;
But if from there you seek the Lord your God,
you will find him if you look for him with all
your heart and with all your soul.
( Deuteronomy 4:29 )

After all, our Heavenly Father is always there with open
arms to welcome us back, and His love for us can never
be shaken. For it is written; Though the mountains
be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my
unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor
my covenant of peace be removed, "says
the Lord, who has compassion on you.
( Isaiah 54:10 )

So if you ever find yourself walking far from
God remember that your return trip back to Him starts
with a prayer, and with all of your love. Then soon you
will again be saying; We live by faith, not by sight.
( 2 Corinthians 5:7 ) and feeling that closeness to
God once again! Amen.

You are my rock and my fortress;
Therefore, for Your name's sake,
Lead me and guide me.
( Psalms 31:3 *NKJV )

A good friend is worth more than gold, for they
will stick by you through good times or bad. For,
A man who has friends must himself be
friendly, But there is a friend who sticks
closer than a brother. ( Proverbs 18:24 )

Jesus Christ is such a friend, for He has said; You are
My friends if you do whatever I command you.
No longer do I call you servants, for a servant
does not know what his master is doing; but
I have called you friends, for all things that I
heard from My Father I have made known to
you. ( John 15:14-15 )

Therefore, I will share a poem with you about our dearest
friend, Jesus Christ. I hope that you will enjoy it!

The Dearest Friend!

I have a Friend in Jesus,
He's ever walking near
To share my every burden
And take away my fear.

It's in His precious name I pray
To our God above;
It's through His sacred teachings that
I learned the way to love.

God did not put me on this earth
To walk life's path alone;
He sent His Son to be my Guide,
The dearest Friend I've known.

No other One could be so true,
He bore the cross for me;
Because He died for my sins
I must ever faithful be.

If you are lonely on life's way
And feel that no one cares,
You have a Friend in Jesus
If you will kneel in prayer.
