Esther 3:1-9 Haman was much too impressed with himself. when Mordecai refused to bow down to him, Haman became so obsessed that he engineered a plan to slaughter every Jew in the land. When we become obsessed over another person-someone who “pushes the wrong button” in us, or someone we want to “fix”- we lose all perspective. How much better to let people be who they are and focus on our own issues.
We’ll save ourselves from headaches, ulcers and our own pride.

Esther 4:14 As codependents, we often take responsibility for other people’s problems, usually at the cost of our own. But the rare occasion does occur in which all of our emotional baggage falls by the wayside and we see one thing that we must do because it is right. Esther found herself in this position, and humbly yet courageously acted. It is the recovering part of ourselves that is able to recognize our own critical moments and seize the opportunity.

Esther 6:1-10 The more we read the Bible and work the steps, the more we come to believe that coincidences don’t exist. And the closer our contact with God, the more frequently we’ll see these “coincidence” in our own lives. We can’t make them happen, but we can trust God and be open to his mysterious and marvelous methods of working out his will.
