What is this? I'm thinking I have one foot in the grave already. I have 6 mos. and am working my program. Going to meetings, having commitments (several) writing, praying, getting on my knees everyday, calling other alkies everyday, and hanging out with other alkies too. What's with me? Too many emotions everyday someone said, maybe...any insight?:9: Don't tell me -- I'm right where I'm supposed to be????? :25: Or -- this too shall pass?

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....this too shall pass? Runs to hide quickly!
How is your diet? Are you drinking plenty of water? How are your sleep patterns? Are you lacking iron?

mmarq56, If you want to know why you are tired all the time then I suggest a visit to your doctor. Also talk to your sponsor about it. Keep coming and sharing with us. We are here for you.

Don't want to go to the doctor, too tempting -- pills was a problem of mine too. Sponsor says I'm detoxing from the alano club I quit going to. Could be it, the people there sure fed my ego for awhile now -- no ego feeding but healthy meetings only. Bummer, it was fun while it lasted.

When I visit a doctor for the first time, I let them know I am an alcoholic and drug addict. I remind my regular doctor also. They have alot of patients so I don't expect them to remember everything. Besides, I am responsible for myself.
I do see you have alot of things that you do. Maybe it is also related to stretching yourself too thin. I have had times when I have had to take a step back and look at myself, my life. Sometimes I have had to let go of a few things. My sponsor told me in my first year that there was a little 2 letter word that I needed to learn to say and that was NO. She said I couldn't be everything to everyone. Again, I am responsible for myself.

Hi mmarq in Anaheim! I grew up right next door in Placentia.
I think you have to figure out right now if you are tired or depressed. Was this a passing feeling for a day or a couple, or is it lingering around longer? Suggestions above are good. If you really know you are not feeling physically right, you should see your doctor and let them know firmly that "pills" are not a solution for you. As suggested above, maybe you're involved in too many things right now and need to check your priorities and reset the balance in your life. I hope you find the solution and get to feeling better!

I'm with big Al about the napping thing. I take a short nap every day when I get home from work it restarts my day and I have energy to get to a meeting. No more that 40 minites or it will mess up your sleep at night.
Hang in there, it sounds like you are doing great in your recovery. It does get better!!!
