LOSING IT

Ok some of yall know I have been having poblems with kids drinking and things at my house.Well I been working nights and I came home from my last stretch of nights and found beer cans and broken bottles all around the new pool.I woke my kids up (adults) and made them clean up and let them have it.Well they older guy that was at my house and probably bought the beer I confronted at my parents house.Well he lied about it and got rowdy with me so I hit him.I lost it I blew it.Had been a long time since I done that and dont feel bad about hittin him to be honset but feel bad about me not being able to control my temper.These kids only do this while I am on nights and I dont see them when I am home.I had to put a stop to things.Now My wife says how unacceptable I acted and my kids were around to hear wehat was going on.I am going to a meeting tonight and see if I can hash all this out and make sense of it all.

Sounds to me like these feelings have been festering for awhile now. I am in recovery and I have a 28 year old son he drinks ocassionally and has friends that he drinks with I DO NOT ALLOW ALCOHOL IN MY HOUSE not even when my son is drinking. He respects me enough to not drink in front of me or come home when he is drinking. Maybe you can look at this whole situation that you are in and figure out what you can do about it!!! It is unexceptable about that you hit your son but it is unacceptable that there is alcohol in your house.. Sit down with the family and let them know how you really feel and to get respect you have to get respect.....POINT BLANK!!!!!!

Big AL , Thank's for sharing. We have good day's and we have bad one's too. We are in recovery and recovering from ourself's sometime's , we fall short. If we fall we pick ourself's up and dust ourself's off. Character Defects are just Arrested , they do make Bail. Our frist step is very important in our live's , We may be powerless but we are not helpless. Maybe just maybe it's time to put your house inorder, so it wont be a next time , you been on that path already , lets find a new path to help you control your temper. We need you , and we do go to jail in recovery. I will pray for you your kids and the person you hit:195:. Let's work on turing it over , let go and let GOD:15:. LOL to you my brother.

You are not the first person to clock someone in recovery. Problem is that sometimes we get to go to jail for it, and again, you would not be the first person in recovery to endure that either. So there you have it.

Last, maybe it is time for the kids to move on. Seems we been down this road with their disrespect for your rules and home. Best for them; best for you. They will survive, they have a G-d, and we are just parents. That's it.
