His Word
Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who reveres the commandment will be rewarded. (Pro 13:13)

We don't say, "I hate God's word." But Christian, when we ignore the Scriptures that the Holy Spirit brings to our mind, we step out of God's light. We would like to think that there is middle ground, but we will either revere the word or we despise it by ignoring him.
No wonder it says to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. (see Phi 2:12-13)
It's not hard to do because the Holy Spirit, Christ in you, is humble and gentle. Let's pray.
Lord Jesus, thank you for not leaving us alone. Thank you for revealing yourself through your word. Help each one of us to pay close attention when you bring your word to mind.
You are the good Shepherd. Help us to both listen and to follow. Let fear of ignoring you be the beginning of wisdom that finds rest in you. Amen.
Today's very great and precious promise
"If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (see John 8:31-32)
