"Promotion" is dependant on a personality. Like saying "I'm Big Al and I'm sober via A.A. and I recommend it to anyone". That's "promotion"
Just like fishing, you're tossing something attractive at the fish for them to either take or ignore. It's no different.

Fishing and jay-walking; definately a connection Big Al. I am sure you have your reasons for wanting to share this piece of literature on a website. As always ask yourself what your true motives are. Some people we cannot share recovery with; some people we cannot fish with.
In answer to the question, I see no break with Traditions. We have no market cornered on spiritual axioms or theories, the Big Book can be purchased at Barnes & Nobel. You get to decide if you want to disclose your anonimity by announcement or suggestion.
However, be careful. I had a few things backfire when I was younger in sobriety and I guess we all have our learning curve about when, what, with whom and how we share the message.
Blessings!
