5 day without a drink

Dear Mike,

A fews years ago I went into the rooms. I had two base groups, I tried all the suggestions. 1 meeting a day, sharing, chores in tne rooms, ministries, stayed after to chat with the members, listened........ for 8 months, no matter what I did I could not get any one to sponsor me. Either they said that I wasn't trying or they blamed it on being alcoholics(?)

I know I should be going to meetings and I found quite a few in my area. I am so anxious that I will be rejected once again. How bad is it that I was rejected by a group whose sobriety is helped by helping others.

I truly tried, it seemed that they held me in contmept or something.

Try again man.I did the same thing but one thing you have to remeber its not abot them its about you.Maybe god put you i a place in sobriety were you can be of some help when others fail.Get sober make adifference for the folks like you who may get rejected.You learned a valublt lesson on how not to treat people that can be used for you and others.Thats your meeting dont let folks run you off.Find one with winners bro becouse you are a winner.% days is a long time to stay sober long time.

It tool all my strength but I got to my first meeting this morning. It was a celebration meeting and it was good. I sat on the verge of tears the whole time but I made it. At the end one of the celebrants approached me and gave me her number with the request to call her before 6p this evening. I will call her.
