BIG AL

I went and helped chair the jailhouse treatment center I sobered up in tonight. It was weird sitting in there looking around remembering how it was.And it was bad.WE are planning to take the meeting back there every Tuesday.I use to do it with my sponsor up till my 3rd yr but quit going.Tonight was my season debut and it was cool.I did look at those little T.A s that run the place and get a little resentfull becouse they take there job a bit to seriously. But all and all about 4 guys asked me to sponsor them so now I guesss I am going to get my thing going back there picking them up and taken them to outside meetings and church. The big book tells us that god will use us if our affairs are in order so maybe I got something in order.I have to say I am still excited about the one person in other thread that has detoxed off oxycodiene.Nothing feels better than help someone and watch the light come back on and the y start to move on there own and grow.I love it

It is a great feeling going back to the place where I sobered up also! It is a great reminder of where I came from. Looking back there is only about 4-5 people that actually stayed sober and we are still good friends. I sobered up in a half-way house and at first I thought it was the end, yeah the end of the old, miserable, using life. I am always grateful when I go back for a meeting there and see the rawness of begininng sobriety, it is a good reminder of what it was like and a good motivator to stay sober! God bless us all on our journey in sobriety and thank God for alumni' s to come back and help out. It is a good thing for them to see people who are sober that came through those places and come back, it gives them hope/faith which is sometimes all we have to hold on to at least it was that way for me! Keep up the good work it is great to hear other people do the same. Keep passing it on!!! Take care and God bless!
