HI Veronica, welcome to the forum! I know for me I had to want to stop and go to AA meetings to stay stopped. Thats a lot of wine for one person to drink in a week. Keep coming back and posting, we will try to help in any way we can!

Welcome... I'm in the same boat as you are. Funny how to me, 1 bottle used to seem like so much... 5 drinks seemed like so much.... now most nights it is often more without getting the same effect. Good for you to recognize the problem and take action ;)

Welcome Veronica - CONGRATULATIONS -
Wine was a good friend for me until she wasn't. There are a few newbies here - I am one, this place has been fantastic for insights.
Here's what I have picked up from wonderful supportive people
Keep a journal
Go to meetings
Come here when you feel like a drink -
We've all been there. Good luck.
Peace and green tea

Wine and Peppermint Schnapps were my choices of alcohol and I made the decision to stop both last week. You can do it and I personally needed medical help to do so, but if it leads me to this path of sobriety I was willing to do just about anything. I wish you all the best and you can do it.

:8:Might as well join the party...I'ma wino as well...anywhere from 1/2 bottel to a bottle and a glass, although I've been better on and off over the past couple months or so, due to some help from this forum especially a certain someone...AND of course I blame it on all my pressures in life, although real and very intense, the bottle'owine a night only makes it worse and ai know it...
a bottle is way to easy to complete...even thoo i'll pace and drink it from 4:30/5pm to 8:30/9 pm, which is about a glass an hour....well thats just how I justify it...I know dam well I need to put it all behind me....

((( trying))))--<but not hard enuf>>>

but I come here everyday for support,to read others problems,to chime in,and to pm back and forth w/ a spcial friend I and ..AND to constantly remind myself of what my Goal is...even if its unclear...

)))))) WINOS ((((((

Congratulations and welcome.
Dawn that is a beautiful border Collie - Yours??
I have just woken up from the most divine sleep, every morning when I awake, my first thought was this " I love not drinking" I used to wake up from the wine, I would be awake 4 to 5 hours a night, just start drifiting off an hour or so before I woke up.
This is bliss - 15 nights of perfect uninterrupted sleep.
Have a great day everyone.
