Just for Today my thoughts will be on my recovery, living and enjoying life without the use of drugs.
Just for TodayI will have faith in someone in NA who believes in me and wants to help me in my recovery.
Just for Today I will have a program. I will try to follow it to the best of my ability.
Just for Today, through NA, I will try to get a better perspective on my life.
Just for Today I will be unafraid, my thoughts will be on my new associations, people who are not using and who have found a new way of life. So long as I follow that way, I have nothing to fear.

I have had this particular page open under N/A for some time now, have read it a couple of times. TODAY, I was looking to close some pages down b4 I began here (to gain some speed), it was the first one I pulled back up and it 'pulled me up' as I began to read through it again.....
the line in blue in particular caught my attention and had me thinking; it's that same line that I keep coming across;
"IF WE HAVEN'T GOT IT WE CANNOT GIVE IT AWAY".....do I have faith in me, do I believe in me and my ability to recover????? To have faith in another/others that believe in me and want to help me in my recovery I NEED to have faith in me first!!!!!.....I know my faith in myself has been somewhat lost for a little while, faith in my abilities to recover from my recent relapse, to work the programme and stay focused on today.
Just for today; I accept that I am capable of working the programme, to the best of my ability, that I am back in recovery and am making it through this, with the helping hand of my HP, God, and those from the fellowship who believe in me. :D
We learn that today is a gift with no guarantees. With this in mind, the insignificance of the past and future, and the importance of our actions today, become real for us. This simplifies our lives.:wink:
We have no need to fear if today we stay clean, close to our Higher Power and our NA friends. God has forgiven us for our past mistakes, and tomorrow is not yet here.:29: :29: :29: :29:

Hi, and thank you for sharing your post. I love the "Just for Today." The first meeting I walked into, sat through, and was handed a sheet of paper at the end and asked to read it. Reading it out loud to a group of people and absorbing what I was saying was just a tremendous experience that I am so greatful to have had. The one line I think about any time I am experiencing trouble is "So long as I follow this way, I have nothing to fear, Just for today". It is so powerful and it is a constant assurance that the only way to have a life that is full of meaning, for myself anyway, is to live a sober life by the steps and to practice the steps in all of my affairs not just in alcohol and narcotics. Thank God for this program, and for the person who was able to be so connected with his higher power that he was able to do this alone, with no guidelines and no one before him, so that he could have written it down for us so that we do not have to suffer the fate of many an addict before us- jails, institutions, and death.
So thank God for the program and thank you for the oppurtunity to share my experience strength and hope on your wonderful message.

Do you have meetings where you are at? If you don't know, try to look it up and I would suggest getting to one. The first thing I learned in this awsome program is "Those who keep coming to our meetings regularly stay clean". What a concept! If I want to stay clean, here is some clear cut advice on how other people have done it!! I don't know if you have heard this or not, but once I started working steps with a sponsor (who has a sponsor), things stopped being so difficult. I had decided that my life was completely unmanageable, I didn't have the ways or means to fix it, and I had to find others who did! Once I found the rooms and started looking and listening to how other people were staying clean, I just tried to follow their hard earned expierence.

Hi All, Way to bring in back to basics Steve.
Just for today and what is the NA Program on the same page, Good stuff, I needed that.
sharing my ESH is why I keep coming back, having a place to toss out a struggle I may be having, looking for suggestions, listening to someone elses experince.
I enjoy sharing my story, so I don't forget where I came from, hopefully having something of value that the new comer may benefit from.
