Fear
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why are the relationships we so deeply need, the things in life which frighten us the most?
We can be quite clever about getting along with people, charming them, even gaining their respect and affection. But why do they still scare us?
Because we are incest survivors, And what it took to survive is different from what it takes to live and to thrive. Getting better does not mean we will never be afraid of people again. It means fear of people will no longer have to control our lives and prevent us from being ourselves. Getting better is learning gradually to replace fear of others with trust and love. It takes time.
