Hey all. I just got out of treatment late last week and detox before that for opiates and benzos. I do have a legit back injury and the motrin, aleave, and muscle relaxers have stopped working. I took two Soma that my Doc scripted me and I feel a bit high from them. I never felt this way from Soma before when I was using the pain meds though. I am clean for 47 days and do not want to ruin that as it was hard as anything to stay clean than long.

I would say no ,but only you know the real answer.are you still taking the meds for a legit pain or for the "high" .. are you taking EXACTLY as presribed .if says take 1 every 4 to 6 hrs are you taking 2 every 2 hrs ?? I also am addicted to opiates ..hell I'm addicted to everything ..but 4 months ago went into detox for oxys, heroin & benzo also its dangerous for me to take any kind of pain medicine on my own .very dangerous . my body doesnt know the diference between . legit medecine -prescribed by doc . or if I'm taking the stuff for the buzz ..look around the site more .. there is some very good info posted on taking "prescribed medecine" "life-threatening illness" I just know . thats walking a very thin line ..& wouldnt want to risk it if at all possible ... ASK YOUR SPONSOR ..if you dont have one .. why not??? so many ppl are willing to help but ya gotta be willing ..

My names Herb S. and I have had the same dilema, the Doctor told me that I had to take something for the pain and imflamation in my back. I have had prior back surgery and in the the past I ended up getting strung out on vicodins, so I am very apprehensive about taking anything besides aleves. I would rather deal with the pain and know that I am alive than take medication and feel numb and lose my conscious contact. I just had 29 months on the 15th One day at a time. Thanks Herb S.

I tried the medication route once like the Doctor said, I ended up back on the streets using and losing 9 and 1/2 years clean time because my head was so screwed up from listening to the Doctor, that get paid to pass out meds.! So now I am working on 3 yrs. clean time instead of 18yrs. Thanks Herb

hey, I am on suboxone, also called buprenorphine, its different from its sister drug subutex, cos u cant inject suboxone. its drug replacement therapy, and this time around, I am using it as prescribed, reducing 1mg per week and not using heroin or any other drink or drug on top of my prescribed dose. After relapsing for 2 years, it is giving me the space to attend daily na and aa meetings, have a sponsor, work the steps and develop a relationship with god, in short, suboxone is saving my life, by allowing me to take in what na and aa offers, something i tried to do without it and couldnt. So, I identify as a clean addict, its a hard road to recovery but every day is slightly less bumpy.hope that helps koolaid 199
