How often we have hated ourselves for having a body that could be invaded, manipulated, abused! Often we have punished ourselves by constantly overtensing our muscles or overstressing our internal organs.

When we begin to make amends, various part of our body(and our body as a whole) usually belong at the top of our list. Much more than saying "sorry", making amends is engaging in a mending (healing) process. We let go of old resentments against our body, begin to appreciate our physical being and how those parts have helped us survive, and enter into a new partnership with our body.

We now choose to relate to our whole body in a lifegiving manner. This, in turn, teaches us self-respect and limit setting. The more we love our body, the less likely we are to allow further abuse from ourself or others.
