The Elevator's Broken, Take the Steps to Set You Free
If you work Step One, you'll know without a doubt
that the disease of addiction really wiped you out
Only Step Two can give you the Hope
that a Higher Power will help you to cope
And Step 3 will help you do God's will
coz there's an empty place inside us all that only God can fill
When you're ready to be honest & look at your past
A Fearless & Moral inventory is all we ask
Then share it with a friend and relieve your he!!
coz 1 addict helping another is without parallel
Step 6 is being willing to finally let go
of the security of familiar pain our defects often show
And if you are able to be humble and sincere
Ask God to take those defects & walk you thru the fear
Then, write a list of the people you have hurt
and make amends for treating them like dirt
Then on a daily basis, when you make a mistake
Promptly admit it & give yourself a break!
Then, prayer & meditation to the God you've come to know
and Spread the message of recovery to help other addicts grow
AND no matter what, remember..as you seek recovery..
