In reading this I reckoned a few others besides myself may quite well identify with this; so thought I'd share it.
Misfits
Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently.
They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them.
But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

Interesting post. I ahve been labelled a misfit all my life and certain felt like the square peg in the round hole. Often this is due to other people trying to control and change me. My thinking has always been challenged but then again in some instances it need to be. Having come into recovery I have found that this label does not come off too easily. thanks for the post.

Hey (((((((Fi))))))),
I identify with being labled a misfit also,as I shared above, a label I carried myself also; I don't feel that I'm a "mis-fit" as such anymore....hey I've found places to fit quite well, I reckon; here being one of them; it's a matter of looking for the square holes to fit "our pegs" into wouldn't you think?? :29:
My brother John, here at home, calls himself and I "Mavericks";(Being independent in thought and action or exhibiting such independence:...):1:
I honestly don't mind at all, and I am happy being that square peg at the moment too!!!!

Normal people, have screwed up this world. Not long ago a religious leader spoke bad about another religion. Many of that religion were outraged. Yet he did not apologize, he said he was sorry things were looked at, that way. If the Saviour of this leader, were alive, he would say. Stick to the devil as your enemy, the world as it is now, is the fathers giving of freewill.

I'm Kai, grateful alcohohlic.
That's me, misfit. Could never 'go along' with 'everybody else'. Something about 'their' way of thinking, and 'their' way of doing things just never seemed right to me.
This posed a particular problem when it came to my parents. I tried to believe everything they taught and showed me and concluded that I was the one who was all screwed up. (So, maybe I AM a LITTLE screwed up!)
Then after I moved away from home, I became an obnoxious non-conformist. Flying in their face with my differences of opinion. (A character defect that I still struggle with.)
I still don't go along with the status-quo, I stand firm for what I believe, but most days, I don't run over people with it anymore.
Live and let live can really suck some days, but boy it is so much more peaceful. Loved your post!!
Love ya later. Kai

Thats what I love about AA is that you can be a misfit and fit in so well. I found a home when I found where all the misfits go!!!

can certainly relate to you there Kai:wink: I still don't go along with the status-quo, I stand firm for what I believe, but most days, I don't run over people with it anymore.
reminds me of something I have be labled many many times over the years "an opinionist".....very strong minded me......very opinionated and boy didn't people know, when I "found" my voice!! I believe I am running less and less people over these day too Kai, reckon I might still have some work to do there, but hey; "progress in works and not perfection":1:
I'm glad you enjoyed the post, I had this pretty strong feeling that it might hit home with a few here!!!!!.....:11:
