Emotional Language

When I am disturbed I jot my feelings down.

Negative emotions stem from what I tell myself, and thoughts come to me through language.

Therefore, when I jot it down real quick, I have put the language of my thoughts on paper where I can actually look at them.
From there I can reshape the language of the thoughts.

The process of reshaping thoughts on paper can help when it comes to visualizing solutions and responses.
Over time, reshaping thoughts on paper enhances vision and fosters a sense of relief and optimism.

Reshaping thoughts on paper also helps slake off the energy of the negative emotions that gave rise to the discomfort in the first place.
Writing such short 10th Step inventories, if nothing else, are like taking an aspirin for temporary emotional pain relief.

If I can jot down one or two sentences involving what I’m going through, I can reshape the language of my thoughts.
