Nothing builds and conveys a positive attitude more effectively than encouragement.
If you develop no psychological skill but encouragement, your sense of yourself would rarely be stronger. some people have this naturally; the rest of us are learning.
Encourage yourself:-
*believe in your own strengths and qualities, behave in ways that express them.
* trust your intuition
* let yourself be inspired.
* tolerate setbacks
*learn from your mistakes
*simplify your life
* appreciate what you already have
* silence your critcisms and complaints
* explore your spirituality
* cultivate your passions
Encourage other people:-
* comment positively ( "I love the way you .....)
* be aware of that persons strengths
* let small upsets and petty disappointments go
* support their interests
* appreciate the ways they are different than you
* take time to listen with good humour
* talk to them about what matters most to you, share what is positive
check that yourt encouragement and approval are not conditional
upon other people doing what you want. then it becomes controlling.
