RESENT SOMEBODY



The moment you begin resenting a
person, you become his slave. He
controls your dreams, absorbs your
digestion, robs you of your peace of
mind and good will, and takes away
the pleasure of your work. He ruins
your religion and nullifies your
prayers. You cannot take a vacation
without his going along. He
destroys your freedom of mind
and hounds you wherever you go.

There is no way to escape the person
you resent. He is with you when
you are awake; he invades your
privacy when you steep. He is close
beside you when you eat, when you
drive your car, and when you are on
the job.

You can never have efficiency nor
happiness. He influences even the
tone of your voice. He requires you
to take medicine for indigestion,
headaches and loss of energy. He
even steals your last moment of
consciousness before you go to sleep.

So, if you want to be a slave, harbor
your resentment.

This is an excellent post and very helpful reminder for me in the "here and now"; I have had some resentments in me over the past few days; which I shared of in my journal; one being the resentment of another to drink in my presence......in my/our home, however I choose to be here and I choose to live with whom I do, therefore I did ask for His guidance and help to work "through" that issue and asked for forgiveness for what I harboured. I did recal the thief cometh to take away and I did ??? my emotional serenity and sobriety; is this worth letting go of them???.....NO WAY!!!!! Recognise it, be in it (i.e feel the emotion/s), accept it is what is, give it to God and LET IT GO.

The Serenity Prayer helped also; God grant me the serenity to accept the people/things I cannot change,
The courage to change the one I can/the things I can,
And the wisdom to accept that one is me and that I can re-live the slow death or I can pray for help and hand it over to God and Let it go.

A Prayer for Light.

Timidly and humbly I ask the Universe

Let the white light of the Universe
enfold, protect me
and bathe me in its healing love.
Let this journey be a tool
to bring back peace of mind,
love, joy and kindness back to my life.
Cleanse my soul of hurt and bitterness,
resentment, vengeful and judgmental thinking.
Give me balance and serenity
to face each trial with faith,
and an open mind, love and kindness.
When I get lost, love kindness.
When I get lost, let the sun shine down
white light to show me the way back
to the path of Love.

I found this when I picked out my Songs of Felloswhip book this morning, I had printed it out 6 months ago, appropriate message for today I feel.
