The 12 Humorous Steps
For Compulsive Spenders

1) Admitted we were powerless over garage sales and that our goods had become unmanageable.

2) Came to believe that just one more credit card could restore us to solvency.

3) Made a decision to turn our charges and cash advances over to the care of Visa, as we understood Visa.

4) Made a searching and fearless inventory of our goods and decided that we needed more.

5) Admitted to everyone the exact details of our greatest buys.

6) Became willing to apply for more credit cards and a higher credit limit.

7) Desperately asked our parents and friends to pay our debts.

8) Made a list of all persons we thought we could borrow money from and became willing to try them all.

9) Made direct attempts to borrow from everyone except when to do so might result in a turn-down.

10) Continued to bounce checks and when we were overdrawn, promptly blamed the bank.

11) Sought through ads and sales to continue my contact with stores, praying only for money enough to carry that out.

12) Having had a bankruptcy as a result of these steps, we recommended this way out to others, and continued to practice the con in all our affairs.
