Does Anybody Hear Her Lyrics

She is running
A hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction
She is trying
But the canyon's ever widening
In the depths of her cold heart
So she sets out on another misadventure just to find
She's another two years older
And she's three more steps behind

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even know she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

She is yearning
For shelter and affection
That she never found at home
She is searching
For a hero to ride in
To ride in and save the day
And in walks her prince charming
And he knows just what to say
Momentary lapse of reason
And she gives herself away

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even know she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

If judgement looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Can't see past her scarlet letter
And we never even met her

If judgement looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Can't see past her scarlet letter
And we never even met her

Never even met her

Does anybody hear her? Does anybody see?
Or does anybody even knows she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me

Does anybody hear her? Does anybody see?
Does anybody even know she's going down today?
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Does anybody see?

He is running a hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction

This is a song that a friend of my mom's wrote and my uncle sang it at her funeral. I know, kind of morbid, but I love the song.

I saw a field of flowers stretching far beyond my sight.
It was nothing like I’d ever seen for they shine before daylight
In the midst of all this splendor stood a man in white array
The keeper of the field of dreams,
In his arms a fresh bouquet

I thought it strange that he would take these flowers from their homes,
but as I watched more closely I could see that I was wrong.
As he knelt to the ground and then stood up there was one less in his arms
he was planting them beside himself protecting them from harm.

Heaven bound, they have found their one true father
Heaven bound they are by the still filled waters
Though our hearts are filled with sorrow for the loss we have sustained
There is one more flower in heaven planted in his field of dreams.

No sooner had he placed the last dear flower on the ground,
a fresh bouquet appeared again in Jesus’ loving arms.
An ever growing garden filled with never ending love,
a field of dreams for you and me planted by our God above.

Heaven bound they have found their one true father
Heaven bound they are by the still filled water
Though our hearts are filled with sorrow for the loss we have sustained
There is one more flower in heaven planted in his field of dreams

I watched him o so closely as he placed them one by one
Their petals seemed to watch his face as if he were the sun.
All at once he looked at me and spoke this with his eyes,
behold you see my little one she didn’t really die

Heaven bound she has found her one true father
Heaven bound she is by the still filled waters
Though our hearts are filled with sorrow
For the loss we have sustained
There is one more flower in heaven………….

and Judy is her name.
