The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than the past, than education,
than money, than successes, than what other people think or
say or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.
It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding
the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past ...
we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have,
and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I
react to it.

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes
midnight.
I have responsibilities to fulfill today.
I am important.
My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.

Today I can complain because the weather is rainy, OR...
I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.

Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money, OR...
I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and
guide me away from waste.

Today I can grumble about my health, OR...
I can rejoice that I am alive.

Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was
growing up, OR...
I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.

Today I can cry because roses have thorns, OR...
I can celebrate that thorns have roses.

Today I can mourn my lack of friends, OR...
I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.

Today I can whine because I have to go to work, OR...
I can shout for joy because I have a job to go to.

Today I can complain because I have to go to school, OR...
Eagerly open my mind and fill it with new tidbits of knowledge.

Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework, OR...
I can feel honored because the Lord has provided shelter for my mind, body,
and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped.
And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.
What today will be like is up to me.

I get to choose what kind of day I will have!

Have a GREAT DAY my friend
OR...
maybe you have other plans.

For this is wisdom; to live, to take what fate, or the Gods, may
give. - Laurence Hope

We can't control the events of our lives, but we do have mastery
over our attitudes.
The chances will be many, today, to react negatively or positively
to circumstances we find ourselves in. We can consider that each
circumstance has something special in it for us.
Positive expectations regarding the planned as well as spontaneous
activities of the day will influence the activity's flow, our
involvement with it, and our interactions with the other people
involved. A positive attitude seems to breed positive
experiences.
In other words, we attract into our lives that which we expect.
How often do we get up angry, feeling behind when the day has only
begun, short-tempered with our children, "ready" for a tough one
at work? And we generally find it.
The Serenity Prayer offers us all the knowledge, all the wisdom
we'll ever need. We can accept what has to be, change what we
can, and not get confused between the two. We can inventory our
attitude. Are we taking charge of it? Our attitude is something
we can change.
I won't get trapped today by a negative attitude. I will accept
the challenge of turning my day around.
