Hang In there brother. Staying cleand and sober is the first thing we can do!
Do you have a sponsor? Are you working the steps? These are actions that can bring you to a place to make proper choices. The steps are at the heart of a good solid recovery. The AA program sayed my life and gave me a life worth living. I was as hardcore as they come and I'm a changed man today.

Going thru a divorce myself, I have not had the oppotunity to spend enough time with my kids. I just miss being able to come down to their level and act silly as can be. I have two beautiful daughters from one ex-wife. Thank God I dont owe any money, that is only thanks to a check that gets dropped in her mailbox every month. I stay sober for myself first, then for my kids, who without my sobriety may as well not have a father. Stay clean...

Hi Nomad,
"We do not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it". My past is there and I own it. When I got into recovery I had to deal with it. But in the sequence of the steps as they are laid out.
As previously stated I had to stay sober. Working a program, steps, and finding a God of MY understanding led me to where I am today. It didn't happen over night. I was able to change because I WANTED IT. All this allowed me to face my past, my responsibilities and amends. My honesty had to be consistant over time. Getting out of myself and working with others played a big part in changing who I was. I have a different outlook. GOING TO ANY LENGTH is what it took for me. It isn't "what I did" now as much as "what am I going to do".
What am I going to do as I go forward, one day at a time.
Stay here, share and hit meetings Nomad. I have something right now. Not sure if it is the "IT" everyone talks about but, it is much better. Keep it simple man.
Breathe in, breathe out, and don't drink in between.

fOR ME: First time around, I worked the 12 steps in 12 months - and became the King of the Road: attempted to become the President of AA; but group conscience voted against that - so thought - well if MY IDEAS ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU - I CAN DO IT MYSELF - I'VE LEARNED ALL I NEED TO. SO THERE YOU SORRY A****! EAT ***!
