Is the Old Testament Useful For Christians Today?
Jesus and the Apostles frequently referred back to the Old Testament teaching. God never intended for us to dispose of, what we call, the Old Testament. When Jesus taught in the Synagogues, it was from this literature, the Old Covenant.
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning that through patience and comfort of the scriptures we might have hope. (Romans 15:4)
Think not that I have come to destroy the law or the prophets: I have not come to destroy, but to fulfill. (Matthew 5:17)
If the old teachings were good enough for our Lord, they are good enough for us.
