HE UNDERSTANDS
But although the world was made through him, the world didn't recognize him when he came. Even in his own land and among his own people, he was not accepted. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn! This is not a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan — this rebirth comes from God.
So the Word became human and lived here on earth among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the only Son of the Father.
John 1:10-14
Before time began — Jesus lived. Before there was a star in the sky — Jesus lived. Before land and water came to be — Jesus lived. Jesus simply spoke, with the blessing of His Father, and the whole world was created. Yet, when he chose to become human and suffer the agony of simply wearing the skin of common man — man rejected Him.
If you have ever been rejected (and who hasn't), if you have ever been lied about (if you haven't rejoice), and if you have ever been misunderstood (are you breathing?), then you have a friend in Jesus. As parents, many times our children will lash out at us and tell us they want nothing else to do with us when we try to discipline them. Yet, we continue to love them. Jesus even understands this.
Human beings were created and designed by Jesus Christ; created in His image. Yet, the multitudes, and yes even some of His family, rejected Him and thought He was a lunatic. Please, no matter what your circumstances are — no matter what you are going through — Jesus can relate and does relate to you. He understands your heartache, your sorrow, and your frustration. I don't know about you; but that knowledge draws me closer to Him and makes me just want to shout with joy!
A song I used to sing quite regularly in the early days of my walk with the Lord go,
"Thank you for the valley I walked through the day.
The darker the valley the more I learn to pray.
I found you in the lilies that were blooming by the way,
and I thank you for the valley I walked through today.
Thank you for every hill I climbed, every time the sun didn't shine.
Thank you for every lonely night I prayed 'till I knew everything was alright
and I thank you for valley I walked through today.
Life can't be all sunshine, or the flowers would die.
The oceans would be desert, all barren and dry.
Life can't be all blessings or they'd be no need to pray,
so I thank you for the valley I walked through today."
We usually learn more about Him in the valleys than we do on the mountaintop.
Yes, like me, many of you may be in a dry place, what seems to be a barren desert, with little affirmation from family or friends, but if God gave you a vision guess what — He hasn't changed His mind. He is walking with you and this is simply a test you need to pass. Our Savior is truly "a man of sorrows, well acquainted with grief." Therefore, He knows right where you are and He is praying for you. Hallelujah, what a Savior! What a friend!
