WHAT SHOW?

Have you ever had to go to work when you were sick? How about angry? Grieving? Lonely? Devastated? Sure you have! Now, what if you had to be funny?...in front of 3,000 people?...for an hour?...for FREE?!!

Every so often I am invited to participate in my own life against my will. There are days, believe me, when I would rather be a plumber, a hobo, anything but visible to you. My schedule is full of commitments, visits, performances, meetings, conversations, and contracts. Why am I telling you this? Because I have the opportunity. Because I can!

My complaints these days are usually about the OPTION to quit, not the consequences for quitting. The decision to participate, not the results of being unavailable. How good a day is that?! Remember how it used to be?

We are so much alike, so well connected to one another in our drive and focus and footwork. Look at the choices we are presented with this week alone? Oh, that reminds me...gotta make a call!

I believe words may come easier to some of us than others, but touch comes easier to those without words. Art is a mystery to most. Mechanics are unknown to many. Education is relative to effort and skills are developed or atrophied depending on desire. Human beings were given a genetic map that our bodies and minds follow to allow us to survive in our element...or to thrive!

Have you ever looked around at your life as it is and wonder if you are in the right element? I hope so. Part of success at any level is being able to practice a bit of self-assessment at any given point on the map. YOUR map...you are here.

After years of wandering and taking life as it comes (or doesn't come), I am pretty sure that everyone who was ever born has a role to play in the show. Individual happiness and satisfaction fade because sometimes we object to our role or disagree with the script. We move up or down the responsibility ladder because the rung we're on doesn't seem to be a good fit. We change our element instead of accepting the responsibility to develop the gifts we were (each of us) born to give away.

Now for me these words came easy, but...you know.

WHO IS MARK L?

In 1988 Mark Lundholm was a resident in a halfway house who started poking fun at the insanity his life had become. This process continued and gained momentum, and in a short time an incredibly talented and energetic entertainer emerged, in a successful standup comedy career through 49 states and 5 foreign countries.
