Will the cravings ever go away completely?

Will the cravings ever go away completely?

The intensity of cravings you experience often depends on how much long-term effort you put into your quit. If an ex-smoker takes care of any physical, mental/emotional or behavioral issues as they come up (which they will, occasionally, over a long period of time), there's a good chance that you'll rarely if ever crave (and if you do, you'll know how to deal with it). Some folks never experience a serious urge to smoke again.

I agree - I have 5 months now off ciggs and the time when I think of having one is almost always just after a big meal. but I also have learned that the thought and craving lasts all of 5 minutes and then it is gone......I still carry some nicorette gum with me just in case. But for the most part I really don't have any physical cravings - just thoughts from time to time. I think I am still re-defining and re-designing who I am without a cigarrette in my life. What a great opportunity for a new beginning and a whole new me!

light and love

Gail
