I am grateful for the gifts in my life that are God's grace.
To be humble enough today to see his will for me. I am thankful that today when I start to take my will back I recognize it and am immediately willing to pray and listen. I am grateful today that I can see all the loving caring people around me. I could not do this life sober without them. I am grateful for the opportunities I have today to give back. Giving out of love is a new found joy I have in my sober "new way of life". It is the Lords plan for me and oh what a glorious plan. So simple. I am grateful today that the Lord is keeping my eyes open to his plan. I am grateful today to know that if it is good it is of God. If it is good then it is what I should be doing today. I am grateful I don't feel I have to drink today. |

"It is necessary for all of us to accept whatever positive
gifts we receive with a deep humility..." It's not usually the positive gifts that I have problem receiving with gratitude and humility....it's the undesirable ones that are hard to be grateful for. You know, those "life lessons" and "growth experiences" that are necessary but uncomfortable. That's when I really need to dig deep for my gratitude to be offered the opportunity to grow in my recovery.
