Awsome!! Just what I needed to hear this morning. I am struggling. My husband is very disappointed in me. You see I bought a pint of whiskey. I had 47 days. I know I can do this. He starts to question if I am sick or not when I relapse. I have been auditioning for AA for 2 1/2 years. I have the WE, a sponsor and go to 10 to 14 meetings a week. For some ungodly reason I thought I could be successful with the pint.
I went to mass and a meeting yesterday. I will be at a meeting today too. I will call my sponsor. I talked to him yesterday. I did not tell him yet. I am aftaid he will drop me. He is hard core. He reminds me of my Uncle Wally who died some 6 years ago. The similarities is why I asked him to be my sponsor. I do believe GOD will take this from me. I need to let Him. Let Him keep it too. |

pausing in prayer for you jiggersTake it one day at a time, if you struggle with that, break it down to hours or even minutes.

Thanks janbear. I have decided to change sponsors. I cannot have a sponsor I am afraid to talk to. I was talking to a 30 yr sober woman earlier this morning. She said she would take me on. I have always been able to talk to her, I just thought she was too busy. My first sponsor did not have time for me I do not want to go thru that again.
Anyway, I believe Nancy will work for me. I have not figured out how to tell Walt. I want to tell him in person. I am praying about this now. I normally call him after 1pm on Sunday's. He usually goes to the later mass, he'll be home soon..... May Christ go before me. |

Hi jiggers, I have relapsed before myself. I took my last drink in 2000. As for telling your old sponsor about having a new sponsor, I suggest short and sweet. In and out fast, keeping your side of the street clean. Preferably either face to face or on the phone if possible. As Jan said, take it one day at a time. I will keep you in my prayers.

Bluidkiti Thanks for the words of wisdom I called Walt after the 10:30 am meeting that ended at 12 noon. I asked if I could stop by on my way home. He asked what I wanted. I told him I have decided to get a female sponsor. I really believe he was relieved. He did not want to turn me away when I asked him. He gratiously said, " That is fine."

Thats good jiggers. We all need a sponsor that we are comfortable with and feel we can talk to.
