Post subject: Another Question My husband suffers from panic attacks but takes medication for it and it seems to be under control. Currently, on Sunday, he starts to feel anxious about work on Monday. I can detach only for so long before I start to pick up on his mood. Post subject: This question may be out of my scope of practice. However, it sounds like classic codependency. You are experiencing the same feelings that co-dependents feel toward the addicted person and why they get so sick.

Have you ever wondered how a doctor can see death and pain and not be emotionally affected. They are taught in medical school to detach. To keep an arms lenght distance emotionally from that which they are exposed. We can imagine this and learn to do this in our own life. We can learn to care but not be emotionally affected. We did not cause it and we cannot fix it is our motto. Hope this helps!
